Martina Trommer

I am constantly trying to hold my spoons together (please google spoon theory, if you haven’t heard about it yet, thank you!). I am also writing about living a dis_abled life with multiple chronic conditions in an ableist society. I am carrying a lot of softness inside me, and I strive to become even softer. To pay my bills, I am working as a recipe developer, food photographer and stylist, and food is one of my biggest passions. I love the color pink.

Year of birth: 1990

  1. What time is it?
    4:58 p.m.

  2. What’s your favourite Emoji?
    😎

  3. Standing at the airport today with a free ticket, where would you go?
To be really honest with you, this thought gives me a lot of anxiety right now. If there wasn’t a global pandemic, I would probably first visit my mom via train.

  4. The best thing about a country you lived in:
Most people I love do currently live here.

  5. More of this in Europe, please:
Start dealing with and confronting its colonial past and paying for it.

  6. Europe can do without:
    Closed borders

  7. What do you deeply care about?
Cast iron skillets and how to keep them properly seasoned. They will last you a lifetime when taken care of. Don’t be scared of them!

  8. Last book / movie that moved you:
Ruby Tandoh’s 2021 cookbook “Cook As You Are”. It is an accessible, inclusive and inspirational addition to any and every kitchen. Plus: there’s also an easy-read version of it.

  9. The person before (Anne Linde) asks: What do they want to know about the previous person? What’s your favourite sweet snack?

  10. What do you want to know about the next person? What’s your favourite savoury snack?
